Preparation

The day before tanning, exfoliate, paying special attention to any dry areas, such as the knees and elbows, and moisturise. You should also carry out any hair removal.

Do NOT remove hair on the day of the tan as it will open the pores and cause the tan to look uneven. Waxing after the tan has been applied will remove the tan.

On the day, do not apply any moisturiser, it acts as a barrier and can cause streaking. Do not apply perfume or deoderant as it can affect the colour of the tan. Remove any make-up and jewellery. Tie-up long hair.

Clothing: Loose, dark clothing should be worn once the tan has been applied to ensure that the clothing does not rub the tan off the skin. Knickers/underpants will be kept on during tanning. A bra is optional, although if you choose to wear one, remember that you will have a band of white where you have not been tanned. Open shoes are recommended.

Aftercare

The tan needs to be on for the required taking time before showering. When you shower, you will see the guide colour wash away. Use gentle, non-oil based products for cleansing and pat rather than rub yourself dry. Gentle exfoliation every third day and daily moisturising will improve the length of the tan.

Until you shower you must make sure not to get wet. If one area of skin gets wet, the tan there will be removed sooner that the rest of the tan and as a result will be lighter in colour than the rest of the body. You should also avoid activities that cause you to sweat.

Spray tanning provides you with NO sun protection. Please be aware of this and look after your skin.

Pregnancy

Spray tans are unsuitable for women in their first trimester. Once in your fourth month, it will be safe for you to have a spray tan.

If you are currently breast feeding, it is safe to be tanned everywhere other than the breasts, which we will keep covered during tanning.
